Costa Rica. With the participation of representatives of the public and private sector of the HVAC field in Costa Rica, Mitsubishi Electric presented its main innovations for 2025 during an event held at the Hyatt Centric Hotel and organized by Confort Clima.
The presentation was given by Jorge Barreto, Regional Sales Manager, and Ramón Portes, executives of the Business Unit for Latin America, who detailed the technological innovations that will mark the brand's strategy in energy efficiency, refrigerant transition and advanced solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
Transitioning to low-GWP refrigerants
One of the central topics was the shift to A2L refrigerants—such as R-32 and R-454B—in compliance with ASHRAE 34, ASHRAE 15, UL 60335-2-40, and IMC/UMC codes. The company explained the implications of this process, focusing on:
- Safety measures and risk mitigation.
- Leak detection and ventilation requirements.
- Definition of minimum installation areas based on LFL.
- Use of shut-off valves to limit refrigerant leaks.
Solution Portfolio 2025
During the event, the following lines were presented:
- Residential Solutions (M-Series and P-Series)
- City Multi for various applications, with new capabilities in efficiency and control.
- Ecodan, focused on efficient heating.
- s-MEXT, designed for critical applications.
- e-Chiller, the proposal of maximum efficiency for air and water.
Specialized solutions for data centers
The brand highlighted its portfolio for data centers, aligned to TIER 1, 2 and 3 parameters. Among the solutions on display are:
- P-Series and s-MEXT for humidity control between 30% and 60%.
- Design and installation flexibility.
- N+1 redundancy.
- New s-MEXT with R-454B refrigerant.
Advances in intelligent control and management
The new local controllers were also announced:
- Simple MA
- Deluxe MA
- Touch MA
- Smart ME
- CN105 Connections (Single Wired, MHK2, Verdant, Thermostat Interface, Operating Limits)
In addition, the centralized control platform, capable of monitoring up to 400 indoor units, was presented, as well as new access and operation options through:
- Remote control
- Touch screen
- Lan
- BACnet Integration
The company also announced the launch of Kenza Cloud, a cloud service for remote monitoring.
It was also highlighted that all City Multi indoor units incorporate open/programmable contacts for integration with other equipment, relay-like functions and compatibility with BACnet controllers.
