Paraguay. The General Directorate of Consumer Protection carried out a monitoring of electricity consumption in homes. According to the study, the greatest use of energy corresponds to water heating and heating.Given the results, the Consumer Defense, as well as the General Directorate of Internal Trade of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (DGDC / MIC), seek to raise awareness among consumers so that they are selective and demanding when choosing an appliance, in order to analyze its characteristics and prices.
The heating of sanitary water in homes, which is carried out by means of accumulation water heaters (thermotanks or heaters), lighting, cooking food and use in refrigerators are the consumptions that remain in importance.
