Spain. The company DECACLIMA, specialized in air conditioning equipment and solutions, has developed a line of Air Handling Units (AHUs) certified for ATEX areas, aimed at projects that demand high technical standards, operational safety and customized solutions.
These units are designed to ensure safe ventilation in environments where flammable gases are present. Certified to operate in ATEX zones 1 and 2 (category II 2G) and in compliance with Directive 2014/34/EU, AHUs reduce the concentration of hazardous gases, avoiding accumulations that can lead to incidents, while protecting both people and production facilities and processes.
The design of this equipment is based on the elimination of possible sources of ignition. To this end, they incorporate a specific selection of materials, advanced protection of electrical components and surface temperature control. They also integrate certified fans and motors, grounding systems, equipotential connections and accessories that comply with ATEX regulations, thus guaranteeing reliable operation in demanding conditions.
In terms of efficiency, the units can incorporate heat recovery systems without mixing between the exhaust and supply air, which allows energy consumption to be optimised without compromising safety. In addition, integration with the DCONTROL platform facilitates remote monitoring and supervision of the facilities in real time.
These solutions are aimed at sectors where safety requirements are particularly high, such as the chemical industry, mining, waste management, laboratories, grain silos and the marine industry, consolidating themselves as a robust alternative for critical environments that require precise control and operational reliability.
