Spain. This recognition was granted by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines of the Junta de Andalucía within the framework of the NIEMA 2025 Awards.
The award was presented to him by Minister Jorge Paradela during the ceremony held on Wednesday, December 3 at the Seville Exhibition and Congress Center (FIBES). The award recognises his contribution to the industrial development of Andalusia, his business leadership and his drive for technological innovation, sustainability and the transformation of the industrial sector.
During the event, the winners of the other categories of the NIEMA 2025 Awards were also announced: Movex Leather Technology Center, in the Institution modality; MAGTEL, in Nuestra Energía de Andalucía; COSENTINO, in Our Industry of Andalusia; and Sandfire MATSA, in Nuestra Minería de Andalucía.
With more than four decades of experience, García Álvarez has been a key figure in the evolution of the HVAC+R sector in Spain. At the head of KEYTER Group – made up of KEYTER, INTARCON, GENAQ and KICONEX – he has driven the growth of Lucena (Córdoba) as one of the main technological industrial hubs in southern Europe. The group generates more than 800 direct jobs, exports to more than 75 countries and operates under an innovative and socially responsible industry model.
His career has also been linked to sectoral associationism, presiding over entities such as AFEC and AFAR, from where he promoted initiatives linked to energy efficiency, digitalisation, the use of natural refrigerants and the decarbonisation of industry. Under his leadership, KEYTER Group has maintained sustained growth, allocating more than 5% of its annual turnover to R+D+i and developing one of the most advanced industrial complexes in Europe, with more than 40,000 square meters.
Recently, the group reinforced its social commitment with the creation of the KEYTER Group Foundation, aimed at technical training, environmental sustainability, labour inclusion and social cooperation, consolidating a business vision that understands industry as a driver of progress and development.
