Mexico. AoFrio, a New Zealand company that provides IoT solutions for commercial refrigeration, officially inaugurated its Innovation Center and new corporate offices in Querétaro, consolidating its commitment to Mexican talent and its commitment to the technological and industrial development of the region.
The opening ceremony was attended by AoFrio's global executive team, led by Greg Balla, CEO; Genevieve Clark, VP of Global Product; and Gabriel Villalobos, VP of Finance and Operations for the Americas.
Among the special guests also attended prominent authorities and institutional guests, including:
- Her Excellency Mrs. Sarah Ireland, Ambassador of New Zealand to Mexico.
- Eng. Marco Antonio del Prete, Secretary of Sustainable Development of the State of Querétaro.
- Mtra. Liliana San Martín Castillo, Secretary of Labor of the State of Querétaro.
- Dr. Paloma Palacios, representative of the Government of the Executive Branch of the State of Querétaro.
- Arq. Juan Manuel Guerrero Palma, Secretary of Sustainable Development of the Municipality of El Marqués.
- Erika González Maciel, Coordinator of International Relations and Government Innovation of the State of Querétaro.
During the event, the representatives agreed to highlight the role of Querétaro as an exemplary ecosystem for attracting foreign investment and generating jobs specialized in innovation and technology.
The new center represents a strategic investment by AoFrio in Mexico, designed to strengthen its presence in Latin America and accelerate the creation of smart solutions from the heart of the country. This space will become a meeting point between engineering, innovation and human development, where local teams will collaborate closely with specialists from New Zealand and other regions to promote technologies that optimize the energy and operational performance of commercial refrigeration.
"This Innovation Center is a space to create, collaborate and grow together. We arrived as a global team, but we moved forward as leaders, with a strong foundation inspired by Maori values – to be strong, brave and true partners," added Genevieve Clark, VP of Product at AoFrio.
After the ribbon cutting, attendees toured the center's new facilities, which include an IoT technology showroom and a development laboratory with a temperature test booth, designed to simulate controlled environmental conditions.

The event was also attended by the AoFrio Mexico team, who stressed that this new Innovation Center not only promotes collaboration and creativity, but also accelerates the development of technological solutions designed to generate value, efficiency and new business opportunities throughout the Americas.
