International. Recognized with the AWE Innovation Award 2025, Embraco's new model promises to reduce energy consumption by more than 25%.
As part of the AWE 2025 fair in China, Nidec Global Appliance officially launched the Embraco Atom, the most compact variable-speed compressor on the market for residential refrigeration. Weighing just 2.5 kg and standing less than 110 mm tall, the new device aims to accelerate the global adoption of energy-efficient technologies.
The Atom was distinguished with the AWE Innovation Award, one of the most important recognitions of the event, for its innovative design and its impact on sustainability.
According to the company, this compressor is 30% lighter than the brand's previous smaller model. Its ultra-compact size not only optimises the internal space of household appliances, but also offers logistical advantages by doubling the number of units per pallet, thus reducing emissions associated with transport.
- Publicidad -"The global drive for greater energy efficiency is undeniable, and this technology has a critical role to play in that transformation," said Alberto Casnati, president of Nidec Global Appliance. The executive said that the platform will have China, Europe and India as initial markets.
The Embraco Atom runs on natural refrigerant R600a and offers a coefficient of performance (COP) of up to 1.90 W/W, exceeding the strictest international standards in energy efficiency. Compared to traditional fixed-speed compressors, it can reduce energy consumption by more than 25%.
Another notable advance is its low noise level. Thanks to an ultra-compact inverter and an innovative polymeric discharge duct, the new model achieves a reduction of up to 5 decibels compared to conventional solutions, significantly improving the end-user experience.
With this proposal, Embraco seeks to redefine the standard in residential compressors, combining efficiency, small size and sustainability.
