United States. Berner International introduced the Industrial Intelliswitch™, a North American digital controller platform for the industrial air curtain market for docks and gates.
That is, Intelliswitch Industrial Control allows building managers to control and monitor air curtains individually or in groups through additional options such as the Berner AIR™ intelligent controller/application and BACnet.
Physical description
The Intelliswitch Industrial Control Panel can be installed remotely or factory on the unit. It comes equipped with a 3.18 (height) x 9.72 (wide) inch (80 x 246 mm) display and can be located remotely from the unit-mounted control panels.
The Intelliswitch, "standard on all Berner Architectural air curtains, was adapted to industrial air curtains to offer building managers flexibility in operations with a built-in time delay, preset schedules, 7-day programming, a temperature probe, low voltage circuit for door switch or BMS unit activation."
This device also allows the option to add the Berner AIR smart controller and app, which includes BACnet capabilities. Facilities managers can program, operate and monitor air curtains through a building management system using the BACnet-IP protocol or a smartphone. "The Berner AIR app also enables bundling, simplifying and streamlining the programming of many air curtains across multiple locations."
According to the manufacturer, "Intelliswitch and Berner AIR functions allow configuration to be programmed and adjusted so that Berner industrial air curtains work optimally for the application and conditions. Consequently, the facilities are more efficient in saving energy and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions when the doors are open by protecting the interior temperature, in addition to providing thermal comfort."
Importantly, air curtains also facilitate the control of flying insects without chemicals and improve overall indoor air quality (IAQ).
The Industrial Intelliswitch and Berner AIR package allows access to the new Berner AIR console, which features a dashboard-style display from a web browser for a better overview, especially with multiple air curtains and locations.
