International. Embraco compressors will be used for xioami's refrigerator production, following an agreement between Nidec Global Appliance and the Chinese brand.
"Xiaomi is always looking for the best technology in the industry, therefore, this agreement recognizes Nidec's market-leading position and our portfolio of products and brands, such as Embraco compressors for refrigerators and Nidec motors for washing machines," said Ricardo Bristotti, head of the appliance business segment of Nidec Global Appliance.
The new Xiaomi 630L Mijia smart refrigerator is the first result of this partnership to reach the Chinese consumer, since the end of March, officially starting this new effort. It comes equipped with the VES Embraco variable compressor, a model marked by strong cooling performance, low noise, first-class energy efficiency and long service life. Its main characteristics are related to environmental sustainability.
The energy consumption is as low as 0.95 kWh/day and the operating noise is 36 decibels. In addition, this Embraco compressor uses natural refrigerant R600a (isobutane), which does not damage the ozone layer and has a global warming potential close to zero, being a solution for the present and for the future.
All the brand's compressor lines supplied to Xiaomi are variable speed, this being the most energy-efficient technology for refrigeration compressors. The energy savings vary according to the compressor model, but can reach up to 40% compared to traditional compressors known as "on/off". In addition, the technology features lower noise levels.
