Berner presents new line of air curtains

Berner

International. Berner International introduces Architectural Elite, an air curtain that combines the energy saving and protection performance of the decades-old industry thermal comfort with the platform of efficient and silent electronically switched (EC) motors and controls.

The sleek, understated cabinet design incorporates Berner's solid engineering foundation to deliver a quiet, technologically advanced and beautiful air curtain that works. Design performance is AMCA certified and complies with the lobby exception of building and energy codes, ASHRAE 90.1-2019; ASHRAE 189.1; the IECC -2015, and the IgCC.

Architectural Elite's patented geometric and balanced shape is inspired by the golden ratio, which is a radical departure from the century of the box-shaped rectangular cabinet designs industry. The triangular shape is aimed at architects, interior designers, and business owners from the U.S. and Canada who are looking for a quiet, functional air curtain that matches the current aesthetic of store, restaurant, hotel, and hospital door design.

Architectural Elite also features the Berner AIR™ advanced technology control platform for air curtains. This platform uses a wireless controller, encrypted at the processor level, to connect the Berner 2.0 application to Berner's built-in Intelliswitch™ digital controller. The Intelliswitch can function as a standalone air curtain controller, interconnect with any building management system (BMS) and interact with the Berner 2.0 application. It has a clock recorder, time delay, built-in thermostat, 10-speed fan control and other built-in functions customizable by the end user.

Architectural Elite 8 and 10 air curtains use 1/5 hp and 1/2 hp EC motors, respectively, for efficiencies and better articulated fan speed control. Both models use Berner's patented high-efficiency, low-noise articulated Pro-V nozzle, which strategically discharges air to meet the floor a few inches off the threshold or "break" for a total air seal.

Optional factory-installed hot water coils feature innovative connections hidden in the top panel instead of visible 5/8-inch diameter (15.8 mm) diameter side inlet/outlet pipes. The AE08 uses a single-stage electric heater and the AE10 uses Berner's patented high-efficiency Venturi open-element electric heater.
