Nidec Global reorganizes its operations into three business units

Nidec GlobalInternational. Nidec Global Appliance, a division of the Nidec Group focused on home and commercial appliance components, presents its new profile, divided into three business units (UN): Home Appliances, Commercial Appliances and HVAC.

The change was implemented over the last year as a further step after the acquisition of Embraco, with the aim of operating with a more dedicated approach to the specific market segments in which the division is present, increasing speed and customer focus. The structure is detailed in the recently launched company profile, available at this link, which also contains institutional information and an overview of Nidec Global Appliance's products and brands.

The Commercial Appliances business unit focuses on the manufacture of compressors and condensing units for a wide variety of commercial refrigeration applications, which are present in supermarkets, convenience stores, pastry shops, restaurants, laboratories, hospitals among others.

The Home Appliances business unit is dedicated to developing and manufacturing motors for washing machines, dryers and dishwashers as well as compressors for refrigerators, both cases being exclusive for domestic applications.

The HVAC business unit manufactures motors and components for residential and commercial applications in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

"This reorganization between three business units was instrumental in maximizing our operation with a fully dedicated approach to our customers and their market segments. Our vision is to be the primary partner for the residential and commercial appliance industries as well as HVAC system suppliers," said Valter Taranzano, CEO of Nidec Global Appliance.

In July 2019, Nidec Corporation acquired Embraco, a global supplier of refrigeration technology for the entire domestic and commercial refrigeration chain since 1971. Since the acquisition, Embraco has been integrated into the Nidec Global Appliance (GA) division, which is one of Nidec's growth platforms, combining synergies between nidec group's brands and products dedicated to residential appliances and commercial equipment.

In addition to the Embraco brand, the Nidec Global Appliance division also manufactures and markets Nidec motors for washing machines, dryers and dishwashers, as well as the U.S. Motors and Rescue brands of motors and components for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. For that, Nidec GA has 14 manufacturing sites and more than 15,000 employees distributed in 9 countries.

"The differentiation in Nidec Global Appliance's brands and products is based on our ability to accelerate innovation and anticipate market trends in energy efficiency and miniaturization. For that, we have approximately 600 engineers and nine research and development centers around the world, all working together with universities and in constant co-development with our customers," emphasizes the CEO.
