Latin America. The second edition of the Top 100 Latin American Installer Contractors Report 2019-2020 now includes an update with the results for 2020 of the Top 100 Installer Contractors Ranking of the magazine ACR LATINOAMÉRICA, as well as the perspectives of organizations such as the Economic Commission of Latin America and the Caribbean of the UN (ECLAC) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the economies of the different countries of Latin America, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 edition of the Top 100 Latin American Installer Contractors covers 30 companies from Mexico, 15 from Central America, 35 from the Andean Region, and 20 more from the Southern Cone.
The consequences of the pandemic have led to a global recession, according to these agencies, which estimate a fall in Latin American GDP of -9.1% in 2020, although for 2021 a partial recovery is expected. For the specific case of the HVAC industry, all existing regulations must now be reconsidered in order to minimize the risk of COVID-19 contagion.
In addition to the forecasts, this addendum has information as of August 2020 on imports and trade of equipment of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry for each of the Latin American countries, as well as macroeconomic information on how the pandemic has affected aspects such as employment and trade in these countries.
To highlight, in the Top 100 Installer Contractors Report 2019-2020 there are comments from several of the integrators that were part of the ranking, on trends and challenges, including professionalization and constant technological updating.
