Bioclimatic GmbH, a German manufacturer of bipolar ionization devices, announced that its bipolar ionization technology in the inactivation of the SARS CoV-2 virus (which generates the disease known as COVID-19), has a 99.999% efficiency in the destruction of the virus in the air in less than 10 minutes.
According to the company, the scientific evidence for such a claim comes from a test requested by the company Icy Cold of Brazil and carried out in the virology laboratory of the biology institute of the University of Campinas UNICAMP (São Paulo, Brazil), with the direction of Prof. Dr. (PhD) Clarice Weis-Arns. As a model of bipolar ionization in the study, the AirDeco Pyramid produced by Bioclimatic GmbH was used.
Bipolar ionization is a phenomenon found in nature, such as in thunderstorms, waterfalls or in the waves of the sea. Bioclimatic GmbH explains that it reproduces this phenomenon of bipolar ionization through its different devices. Thanks to the high voltage generated in its ionizing tubes, air (98% nitrogen and oxygen) is converted into active oxygen (bipolar oxygen ions, hydroxyl radicals and oxygen radicals) and, in this way, millions of bipolar oxygen ions are supplied in any enclosed area.
