Latin America. The company specialized in Cold solutions, Froztec, celebrates its 20th anniversary these days. The company that was born in 2000 in Florida, is dedicated to the engineering, consulting and distribution of brands of equipment, components and supplies for commercial and industrial refrigeration.
Froztec has offices throughout Latin America and has a presence in other countries around the world.
History
Guillermo Tobón and Byron Laureano have known each other since working for the Lennox Group. William was in charge of the refrigeration area for Lennox and Byron for Bohn. One day they decided to step aside, leaving through the front door of the company that formed them, to fulfill their dreams and create their own business.
It was already 20 years ago that Guillermo and Byron met and analyzed what they could do together in refrigeration, so they began to work from Guillermo's house, with a computer, a printer and his wife's permission. Thus began Froztec, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Guillermo explained that the name Froztec was born from abbreviating the words Frozzen Technology, "because we were always careful that the name was recognized as a refrigeration company, we did not want to be considered as air conditioning," he explained.
After that particular beginning in a home-office, Froztec continued with its purpose of expansion in Latin America. Its first headquarters was in Ecuador.
Now Froztec has, in addition to the Headquarters in Miami, seven offices in Mexico, offices in Guatemala, Colombia, Belize, Venezuela, Ecuador, Chile, and participation in other countries such as Peru. Currently the company has a base of 40 people.
