International. ASHRAE announced the launch of an updated eighth edition of the Principles of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. This text is recommended by ASHRAE for HVAC instruction and introduces the fundamental concepts for HVAC systems and design. It is available now at the ASHRAE Bookstore.
The eighth edition has been updated to reflect the changes made to the new ASHRAE 2017 Handbook – Fundamentals, and contains the most current ASHRAE procedures, as well as information on the treatment of building HVAC systems – from basic principles to design and operation. The previous edition was published in 2013.
The book is divided into three main sections, including general concepts, air conditioning systems, and HVAC/R equipment.
Several notable changes were made to the Principles of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Eighth Edition. These include:
