Thermo-tar highlights benefits of parallel flow heat exchangers

Colombia. Thermo-tar, a manufacturer of central air conditioning equipment, unveiled its latest advances in parallel flow heat exchangers for air conditioning and refrigeration applications in the residential, commercial, industrial and automotive sectors.

The company explains that among the benefits obtained by this equipment is a greater efficiency thanks to the superior thermal performance offered by the microchannel flat tubes, which maximize heat transfer by providing a greater contact surface. Its uniform aluminum tube-fin composition results in an increase in the primary heat transfer area, which substantially improves the performance of the coil.

Its construction results in a coil up to 50% lighter and more compact, plus it uses on average 50% less coolant compared to a tube-copper/fin-aluminum design. The parallel flow capacitors with microchannels manufactured by Thermo-Tar come with special Luvata®  coating on their coils to give the coil extra protection against aggressive environments. In addition, they come fully insulated in all their supports guaranteeing durability against galvanic corrosion.

Aluminum microchannel coils can be easily cleaned and handled in the field. The durability and uniform construction of aluminum in these coils also allows pressure washing (using a wide spray pattern), ensuring good washing  without using chemical agents. Leaks in this type of capacitors are rare and can be repaired without complications in the field by different methods.  With just a propane or MAP gas torch and a few simple tools it can be easily repaired in just a few minutes.

The company also stressed that capacitors with aluminum microchannel are no more complicated than traditional tube-copper/fin-aluminum ones. On the contrary, its installation and maintenance is simple, and offers many benefits. The main disadvantage is nothing more than ignorance. It is necessary to dare to welcome change to be prepared for the new technologies that are coming, which are increasingly friendly to the environment, without compromising their efficiency.

Thermo-tar ventures into the production of parallel flow microchannel condensing units for central air conditioning equipment, and currently exports to Brazil, the United States, Israel, Peru, Venezuela.
