The manufacturer of refrigeration equipment, Heatcraft, has launched a complete cooling system specifically for the application of hot gas de-icing.
The system, known as Mohave, is composed of one or two half-profile evaporators, a condensing unit, a controller and a set of valves specific for the control of the thaw. All de-icing pipe lines are installed inside the condensing unit, so the installer only needs to connect the liquid line and the suction line between the evaporator and the unit.
Its hot gas de-icing system prevents the use of electrical resistance in evaporators, which offers up to 60% more energy efficiency.
Some benefits of the system include less heat generation in the chamber, fewer system shutdowns, more energy efficiency, no steam inside the chamber, shorter de-icing cycles, compatible with Beacon II control.
