Diversitech acquires Cliplight Manufacturing

International. DiversiTech Corp., manufacturer and supplier of HVAC/R parts and accessories, announced that it has purchased Cliplight Manufacturing Company, a Toronto-based company and manufacturer of HVAC/R sealants, work lights and battery charger products.

Cliplight brings numerous well-known brands to the DiversiTech portfolio. It is also known in the industry for its R&D and technical support capabilities. These advantages – as well as DiversiTech's storage and distribution operations – will provide greater shipping and ordering efficiency and an expanded geographic reach to serve more customers. In the immediate future, DiversiTech will now be able to offer its wholesale HVAC partners a broader and more complete line of leak detection and repair sealant products, as well as lighting tools and air purification products.

Founded in 1976 with the Cliplight working light, the company later invented the first residential and commercial HVAC/R sealant, Super Seal ™, in 2003. Super Seal ™, which continues to be made in the U.S., has nearly 2 million applications worldwide for appliances, residential and commercial AC and refrigeration systems. Unlike other sealant products on the market today, Super Seal Advanced ™ products uniquely combine sealants and moisture removers while Total ™ Super Seal also includes UV dye in an eco-friendly and technologically advanced product. Super Seal's ™ unique vacuum-packed delivery method uses its own refrigerant from the HVAC/R system to mix and distribute the sealing materials.

This innovative process means that harmful chemicals are often used in other competing products, such as butane or pentane, which are not needed, and ensure that there is no dilution of the refrigerant.

In addition to the acquisition, other product lines coming to DiversiTech include: work lights, leak detection inspection lights, air ozone machines, A/C tools, and battery chargers.

"This is a perfect marriage between two companies with complementary products and services that can be leveraged for the greatest benefit of our HVAC wholesale customers and contractors," said Bud Sjogren, head of DiversiTech's sales and marketing office.
