ASHRAE Invests More Than $2 Million in Research Promotion
Of the 6,000 donations in the year, about half came from individual donations from ASHRAE members, with corporate contributions completing the rest. With an increase of nearly $300,000 over the previous year, the money invested will fund research projects for the start of the 2008-2009 fiscal year. The association invests about $8 million in research annually, with projects generally long-term. Currently, there are 92 active projects under research, including those based on air quality and distribution in hospital rooms and commercial aircraft.
