Colombia. In order to offer the best content to all its attendees, TecnoEdificios 2012 added a new talk to its academic program, called "Adaptations for buildings according to earthquake resistant standard NSR-2010".
The talk will be held on November 9 during the lunch space (1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. - local time) and will offer guidelines for all attendees on the new updates and requirements of the standard for the maintenance of buildings.
The engineer Juan Carlos Vélez will be in charge of dictating the conference. Juan Carlos is a civil engineer from the Eafit University, and also has a Master's Degree in Infrastructure from the University of Los Andes. He is president of the Association of Structural Engineers of Antioquia – AIE, and member of the Association of Civil Engineers of Eafit – AICE.
The engineer has taken different courses and seminars on design, construction, earthquake-resistant standards, among others. In addition, he has participated in a variety of projects as an independent consultant in auditing, design, coordination, review in structures.
TecnoEdificios will be held on November 8 and 9 at the Plaza Mayor Convention Center in Medellín, Colombia.
