Colombia. TecnoEdificios 2012 confirmed that within its Academic Program it will include a guided tour for attendees who wish to know one of the most important facilities in Colombia, such as the Avon Ecobranch Distribution Center, which has the LEED Gold Category Certification.
The visit will take place on November 7 from 10:00 a.m. In this activity, tecnoEdificios attendees will have the opportunity to get to know a building of more than 27,000 square meters that mainly invested in energy efficiency and water saving technologies.
The building has efficient cooling systems, as well as an energy modeling that has allowed it to save around 25% in lighting. It also installed a system of 18 photovoltaic lamps and a water heating system through solar panels.
To reduce water consumption, they use a rainwater collection system for use in sanitary units, a wastewater treatment plant with an efficiency of 95%, as well as a landscaping design with native species of little maintenance and that do not generate water consumption by irrigation.
