The new AB-QM 4.0 Pressure Independent Balancing and Control (PICV) valve now has enhanced features for smart construction, optimizing hydronic balance and terminal unit control in public and commercial buildings. Its improvements make it a new valve, rather than an upgrade.
The valves are designed to be used in combination with conventional or digital actuators such as the Danfoss NovoCon S. These new models enable HVAC 4.0 solutions in smart commercial building concepts. The 100% valve authority, achieved by a built-in differential pressure controller, ensures precise control performance.
Most notable is the redesign of the interior construction based on PPSU polymers, which allow resistance to scale and obstructions in an improved way. The pressure class has been increased from PN16 to PN25, while the required differential pressure remains only 16 kPa. The adjustable flow rate has been increased from 450 to 600 l/h maximum with DN15, which allows greater capacities of the terminal unit to be controlled by means of smaller valves.
All AB-QM 4.0 valves are available with internal or external threads and with or without measuring ports. And they feature a preset scale that remains visible from various directions, even with a valve-mounted actuator.
