As part of the extension of its MXZ series of ductless heating and cooling systems, Mitsubishi Electic introduces the new MXZ-5B multi-zone heat pump, a system that can cool or heat up to five zones, ideal for long additions and entire floors or houses. Not all systems on the market can operate with this size and capacity (42,000 Btu/h and 3.5 tons).
It offers individual zone control, for up to eight indoor units of a single outdoor unit. Outdoor units can be used in a variety of indoor unit styles, to facilitate flexibility in installations with the ability to combine units to meet the cooling and heating needs of homes.
It has the following characteristics: five-port system (bypass box not required); excellent heating capacity of 53,600 Btu/h at 47 degrees Fahrenheit and 30,500 Btu/h at 17 degrees Fahrenheit; efficiency rating of 18.4 SEER and long line length of 262 feet and 50 feet vertical height.
