The United Arab Emirates organized a contest called the Land Art Generator Initiative, which consisted of intertwining art and technology hitherto known, in a sustainable design in order to improve and take advantage of solar energy.
The winning project is called "Lunar Cubit" and its slogan is "renewable energy can be beautiful" in the project constructions known thousands of years ago are used, the pyramids, are 8 pyramids covered with solar panels made of glass and amorphous silicon what they look like polished onyx with mirror finish, representing the different lunar phases, each pyramid is illuminated by means of LED's with different combinations, depending on the phase in which our satellite is located, in the center is a ninth pyramid larger than the others that together measure time completing a calendar composed of thirty days.
The project so far is just a concept, the designers believe that in just five years, with all the solar energy produced, the investment of the construction can be recovered, the city of Abu Dhabi and in general the united Arab emirates, have been amazed by their structures for several years, so we could soon learn that construction has begun.
