Venezuela. The Los Chaguaramos branch of the Plaza ́s chain inaugurated the first store that has freezing technology through CO2 refrigerants.
Representatives of the store assured that with this new installation they seek to take care of and protect the ozone layer, as well as to minimize the greenhouse effect. The system available is combined between CO2 and Glycol.
In addition to the use of CO2 for cooling, the store made other investments, including lighting systems with natural light, solar panels, rainwater collection, water heaters for cleaning products and service areas, among others.
Javier Rodríguez, Director of Projects and General Services of Automercados Plaza's commented in el-nacional.com of Venezuela that "we have dedicated great efforts to the search for viable options for both the business and the planet in relation to this issue, in addition to the good practices that we have explored over time and that are present in this store, such as the replacement of equipment by those that prevent the escape of the cold and consequently the rework of their engines, and LED type luminaires for energy saving".
