Venezuela. The Ministry of Popular Power for Transport and Communication (MTC) of Venezuela delivered to the Caracas Metro US$33.78 million for the optimization of the air conditioning service, the repair of the same and the traction motors of the trains in order to improve the operation of the transport system.The process of improving the air conditioning system consists of cleaning the AC condensers and evaporators in the wagons, as well as changing out-of-service parts and equipment.
A restructuring of air conditioning and forced tunnel ventilation will also be carried out at the stations, in addition to the repair and adjustment of cooling and ventilation from the increase in the power of the air monoage units of the ice water generators and compressors.
These repairs, as indicated by Francisco Garcés, head of the Ministry of Transport and Communication, will allow the improvement of air conditioning in the stations, adequate ventilation in the tunnels, as well as a better working environment due to the proper functioning of the air conditioners.
