Venezuela. The Ministry for the Environment initiated an inventory process for refrigeration and air conditioning companies in order to exercise control over the use of refrigerant gases in these companies. This process arises as part of a government strategy that seeks to protect the environment, through the use of equipment that recovers gases and detects leaks in the HVAC / R industry, because the gases used to recharge air conditioning systems, refrigeration, and others, such as chlorofluorocarbons, Freon 11 (R11) and Freon 12 (R12), they are classified as ozone-depleting substances.
The government explains that these measures are necessary so that the discarded elements do not cause irreparable and irreversible environmental damage.
