Paraguay promotes import of ecological cars

Paraguay. A bill in preparation by the Paraguayan government seeks to encourage the import of alcohol-based vehicles as part of a plan to promote biofuels. This would reduce dependence on oil and develop the domestic market for fuel ethanol.

The law will include tariff exemptions and state funding. The project will be put ongoing after considering aspects of the production of alcohol and other biofuels blended with petroleum derivatives.
