Brussels. With the historic unanimous approval of the 27 member countries of the European Union, the research project on the use of hydrogen as a fuel was given the green light in Brussels, thus accelerating the step towards the search for alternative and clean energy that helps reduce the process of global warming.The initiative will receive 470 million euros from the Community coffers and an additional contribution is expected from some industrial sectors.
According to spokespersons for this important initiative, the inclusion of hydrogen in the energy system would reduce the total consumption of oil in road transport by 40% by 2050, according to the specialized commission of the EU, hydrogen as an energy source is one of the most "realistic" alternatives to improve the ecological and economic viability of vehicular transport, especially in the case of travelers.
