United States. The International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) will hold the webinar "Psychrometrics: The Science of Moisture in Air" on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, a technical training aimed at professionals and engineers in the HVAC sector interested in delving into the analysis and control of humidity in the air.
The session will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) and will be free for IIAR members, while non-members will be able to participate at a cost of US$50.
The aim of the course is to strengthen the understanding of psychrometry and its practical application in humidity and air quality control. During the webinar, participants will address fundamental psychrometric principles, learn how to interpret psychrometric diagrams and apply this knowledge in real operating scenarios.
Topics to be developed include key concepts such as dry bulb and wet bulb temperature, relative humidity, vapor pressure, dew point, and moisture content, as well as the analysis of sensible heat and latent heat processes and their impact on HVAC systems.
At the end of the training, attendees will be able to analyze and control humidity levels, perform psychrometric calculations, interpret air properties from different variables, and make data-driven decisions to maintain optimal conditions in different environments.
The webinar will be hosted by Tom Peterson, founder of Climate by Design International, an Owatonna, Minnesota-based company recognized for its focus on HVAC system design and advanced humidity control.
Registration is done through the IIAR portal. Once registration is complete, participants will receive the access link to the webinar platform by email.
