Dominican Republic. The 2025 edition of Refriaméricas was the setting for the presentation of the prestigious CALA Awards HVAC/R. This award highlights the most innovative and technically outstanding projects in the sector in the region.
On this occasion, two categories were awarded:
- Best Air Conditioning (HVAC) project
- Best Refrigeration Project
The finalist projects were evaluated by a specialized jury, which considered criteria such as the use of cutting-edge technologies, the environmental and social impact of the facilities, as well as their relevance at the regional level.
For Andrea Ochoa, manager of the CALA Awards, explained: "This recognition not only celebrates technical excellence, but also raises the standard of the entire HVACR industry in Latin America. Recognizing those who innovate and lead is essential to promote sustainable development and the professionalization of the sector."

MultiCOLD
Project: Concord, La Lima Free Trade Zone, Cartago – Costa Rica
The jury highlighted the technical complexity of this project and the integration of a broad portfolio of leading brands, with an emphasis on energy efficiency, automation and compliance with standards in critical environments. In addition, MultiFRÍO was the public's favorite, obtaining 46.88% of the votes in the virtual vote.
Winner of the Refrigeration category 2025
Dicoma Refrigeración, S.A.
Project: CEDI Perishable Frozen Products – Walmart Costa Rica
With 55% of the public votes, this CO₂-transcritical project was recognized for its innovative nature, energy efficiency and sustainable approach. Its execution consolidates it as a benchmark in refrigeration in Latin America.
Both winners prevailed over an outstanding selection of finalists from Colombia, Chile and Brazil, reflecting the high technical level and regional commitment to efficient, safe and sustainable HVAC/R solutions.
From the CALA Awards, the organization thanks all the applicants, the public who participated in the voting and the attendees of Refriaméricas for their support of this initiative.
