Colombia. The FB company announced that it implemented together with the company Novafríos "the first sustainable and efficient refrigeration system for supermarkets in Latin America".
This project developed for the Colombian Grupo Éxito has been highlighted as a decisive step towards environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in the industry, according to the company. The proposed solution, in addition to having a very low environmental impact compared to other refrigerants of its type, offers several advantages, such as easy installation and maintenance.
The system is robust and capable of operating efficiently at ambient temperatures above 40°C, thanks to the thermodynamic properties of the refrigerant and the design of the refrigeration system, which includes variable speed compressors, electronic expansion valves and variable speed electronic motor fans for condensation and evaporation.
All this translates into lower operating and maintenance costs, as well as a lower environmental impact. Currently, FB is developing more innovation projects with Grupo Éxito to take this pilot plan to other warehouses and massify it, seeking to achieve a positive environmental impact on a larger scale.
