Midea develops large-scale HVAC projects in Chile

Midea adelanta proyectos de climatización a gran escala en Chile

Chile. In the development of its strategy of incursion into new lines of business, the company Midea announced some of the work it has been doing at an industrial level during the last months.

The company used its Midea Evolution event to showcase more than 100 new products, as well as the various commercial HVAC projects it has been working on over the past few months.

All these initiatives have been developed with the purpose of diversifying their business, thus collaborating with companies and projects from different industries within the country.

New UC Stadium
Described as "a great milestone" by the company Midea Carrier, it has been the project to air condition the new stadium of the Club Universidad Católica. For this, the same technology used in the stadiums that were part of the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be used.

In total, there will be five MVF Midea systems and 11 Carrier air handling units that will air condition various areas of the venue, including the changing rooms, the boxes and VIP areas, the press room, event rooms and common spaces.

According to Midea, this would be the largest air conditioning installation ever made in Chile and will constitute a sustainable system, since the ventilation load adapts to the number of people in the place. Installation of the equipment is expected to be completed in November 2024.

Cinépolis
Another of the relevant projects for Midea Carrier is in conjunction with the Mexican cinema company, Cinépolis. This consists of a renovation of the air conditioning system inside the Parque Arauco and Arauco Maipú cinemas. The facility is expected to be ready by September 2024.

The devices that will be used are 42 Carrier compact devices, which will operate in state-of-the-art heat pump and control mode. With this system, the customer will be provided with greater comfort inside the rooms, in addition to saving energy through natural cooling (Free Cooling) and temperature control.

Bupa Santiago Clinic
Within the field of health, work is also being done with the Bupa Santiago clinic, where refrigerant flow system equipment will be renewed with Midea modular chillers. Currently, the equipment is awaited for installation and the project is estimated to be completed in October 2024.

This air conditioning system will have state-of-the-art inverter compressors, which will allow greater energy savings and an improvement in heat treatment. These units use state-of-the-art R-32 ecological refrigerant.

Galilee
In the real estate industry, it is also collaborating with Galilea in the installation of air conditioning equipment in houses and buildings, specifically in the cities of Talca and Rancagua.

The project is currently in the installation phase and will be ready in September 2024.

For this project, Minisplit high wall equipment, Inverter modular chillers and Fan Coil floor presentation will be used. This will allow for greater energy savings, thermal comfort and quiet operation inside the home.

Santiago Airport Terminal 1
Finally, there is the work on Terminal 1 of the Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, which will have retrofit technology for a centrifugal chiller and cooling tower.

It is also waiting for the equipment for its installation, which is estimated to be ready in December 2024.

This will allow for energy savings, greater efficiency and improved control of water supply, as well as user comfort.
