Modine Coatings presents its anti-corrosion coatings

Modine Coatings

International. The company is participating in AHR Expo Chicago 2024, an event where it has presented a complete range of coatings for the HVAC industry.

In promoting these products, Modine has highlighted that the power of anti-corrosion coatings can generate substantial savings and avoid problems as the life of the equipment is extended.

ElectroFin E-coat Factory Coating
One of these products is the ElectroFin E-coat, applied at the factory to large coils. This electrowinning coating is an alternative to phenolic and polyurethane coatings, with the ability to protect outdoor equipment from corrosion in coastal, industrial, urban or highly alkaline environments.

"ElectroFin E-Coat is specifically formulated and optimized to increase equipment life and have less than a 1% impact on the thermal efficiency of the coils it protects," said Peter D'Ambrosio, sales director of Factory Applications at Modine Coatings.

Extended Warranty
The EFIN SM Pro Shield program provides Modine customers with coating protection options based on their needs and each level offers additional security, through an extended warranty based on specific requirements.

The EFIN SM Pro Shield™ program has three different options:

  • EFIN SM Pro Shield 10: Offers a 10-year warranty with three layers of coating protection. It has a layer of TCP, ElectroFin E-coat and Insitu Topcoat. This coating combination provides the most complete protection against corrosion and UV rays.
  • EFIN SM Pro Shield 7: Offers a seven-year warranty with two layers of coating protection. It has a layer of ElectroFin E-coat and Insitu Topcoat. This coating combination provides protection against UV rays and corrosion.
  • EFIN SM Pro Shield 5: Offers five years of warranty protection with a corrosion-resistant layer of ElectroFin E-coat, which uses a process designed specifically for heat exchangers.

"The Modine EFIN SM Pro Shield program allows our partners to select the level of protection they need to serve their customers and markets. Protecting HVAC equipment so it can provide years of trouble-free service is a primary concern for engineers, builders, manufacturers and end users," he added.

After-sales protection
Insitu Spray Applied coating is highlighted by the manufacturer as an excellent aftermarket solution for coils, components, and cabinets. It is a flexible, synthetic, water-based polymer anti-corrosion coating designed to help HVAC coils, components, and cabinets withstand harsh environments.

In addition, Modine Coating produces the product known as the GulfCoat Contractor Series, an alternative suitable for small commercial jobs, thanks to its multipolymer synthetic resin base.
