International. The company has just launched the new VFD CXAU Variable Speed Unit. This modular air-cooled chiller meets the ASHRAE 90.1-2022 standard for full and partial load efficiencies, allowing it to adapt to demanding weather conditions during the summer and winter.
"The unit is ideal for offices, industrial projects, clinics and hospitals. Modular chillers are a great option for these sectors as they are more efficient, reliable and compact than similar scroll coolers. In addition, they are easier to install, scalable and ideal for reducing and optimizing inventory," said Jorge Ordoñez, Product Specialist for Trane Latin America.
Energy efficiency
The CXAU VFD Unit has a variable compressor and is designed with technology that allows it to have greater capacity and efficiency. In summer, for example, it automatically increases the temperature of the supply water when the internal temperature reference point is reached, thus reducing the operating frequency, load and noise.
"These units are more energy efficient, which helps meet customers' sustainable goals. In addition, being a modular system, it is easily adaptable to all needs and spaces, which makes it an ideal option for small and medium-sized buildings, "says Ordoñez.
Equipment features
The new modular cooler uses a touch screen that allows you to control aspects such as the on/off settings, per week or per day, in person or remotely. Additionally, it has the automatic restart function in case of accidental shutdown and self-diagnosis process that allows you to identify faults to schedule maintenance.
In addition, system optimization focuses on controlling variable water flow, providing support to the pump to save energy. It also has a control to change the temperature without needing to turn off the unit during operation, a terminal connection control to automatically start or stop the units and a centralized control of multiple units.
"The centralized controller supports up to 16 module units to meet the centralized management needs of most projects. For larger projects with a central server, up to 16 groups with 256 units can be connected," explains Ordoñez.
