Chile. As 2023 progresses, more details are being known about the preparations for the Pan American and Parapan American Games Santiago 2023. As the host country, Chile is working to have everything ready in October, when the continental games begin.
Precisely, it has just been known that the company Midea Carrier has been chosen to provide the equipment corresponding to the air conditioning system that will be installed in the new sports complex of the National Stadium.
"We are very happy to have won the tender for this great project, which includes the athletic track and the tennis and racket centers, urban sports and contact sports (main image) of the National Stadium, where a large part of this party will be lived, which will undoubtedly mark a milestone in our country," says the commercial manager of Midea Carrier Chile, Monserrat Ferrer.
Equipment to be installed
The project will require a total of 27 products, both Midea and Carrier brands, to ensure the thermal comfort of athletes from the 41 participating countries, as well as spectators, logistics staff, media and other attendees at the high-performance facilities.
The equipment supplied:
- 8 modular chillers of 130 kW.
- 4 compact equipment of 15 tons of refrigeration.
- 12 compact units of 20 tons of refrigeration.
- 3 Rooftop Inverter equipment, model Carrier 50UPV160, with capacity of 730 TR.
In this regard, the supplier emphasizes that Midea modular chillers have high energy efficiency, low noise level and can operate in extreme temperature ranges (heating from -15 ° C to 24 ° C and cold between -10 ° C and 45 ° C).
As for compact equipment, Midea Carrier's directives state that they are lighter, easier to install, easy to maintain and with the possibility of being operated centrally and remotely.
Finally, on Carrier's rooftop equipment, it was indicated that Inverter technology reduces consumption, especially in constructions such as a sports event venue, where thermal demand depends on the number of people inside the space.
