Carel announces new acquisition

Carel anuncia una nueva adquisiciónInternational. The company Enginia S.r.l., which operates in the design, production and marketing of shock absorbers and other plastic and metal components for air handling units, with solutions dedicated to OEM customers, has become part of the Carel Group.

Enginia, which has been operating in the aeronautics sector since 1997, is based in Trezzo sull'Adda (Milan), 4,700m2 and has a workforce of 46 people.

The integration with Enginia will allow Carel's product portfolio to be expanded in the HVAC market, consolidating its role as a provider of complete solutions for air handling unit manufacturers through advanced technologies in terms of performance and energy efficiency. The combination of the technology used by Enginia with Carel's know-how and extensive commercial network will allow the Group to strengthen its leadership in these market niches and generate important technological and commercial synergies.

The operation is the result of the implementation of one of the main pillars of Carel's strategy, which contemplates, together with organic development, growth through external lines, including through complementary products in the reference applications, with the aim of strengthening its core business.

It is also part of a process of improving the Group's competitive position and market share in a fast-growing sector such as air handling units. This path, already started with the acquisition of Recuperator S.p.A. in 2018, a leading company in the supply of heat recuperators for these applications, is enriched today with the acquisition of Enginia.

Francesco Nalini, CEO of the Carel Group, commented: "The acquisition of Enginia is another important step in our development strategy through external lines and adds one more production platform to the thirteen already existing, making CAREL's offer even more complete. An opportunity for growth in an expanding market such as air handling units, joining Recuperator SpA, which operates in the same segment through the sale of heat exchangers/ recuperators. The GROUP makes its technological knowledge and commercial network available to Enginia to enhance Enginia's strengths and thus increase business and efficiency".
