Spain. DECACLIMA presented a new proposal for retrofit solutions for the refurbishment of air handling units (AHUs), aimed at improving the energy efficiency, operational reliability and sustainability of existing facilities, without the need to completely replace the equipment.
The company notes that numerous buildings and industrial facilities continue to operate with functional HVAC units, but equipped with technologies that no longer meet current efficiency standards. Faced with this scenario, retrofit is positioned as an alternative to update these systems by incorporating new technologies that optimize their performance and extend their useful life.
The solutions developed by DECACLIMA incorporate modular configurations with Plug Fans and high-efficiency electronic commutation (EC) motors, designed to reduce electricity consumption and minimize energy losses in ventilation systems. The distribution of flow among several fans also increases the reliability of the operation, as it allows the system to continue operating even if one of the units stops operating.
According to the company, this modernization strategy reduces energy consumption, reduces CO₂ emissions and lowers costs associated with maintenance and operation. In addition, the modular design makes it easy to adapt new components to existing air handling units, avoiding large-scale interventions and reducing implementation times.
In addition to energy savings, DECACLIMA highlights that these solutions incorporate advanced control systems and contribute to improving indoor air quality, aspects that are becoming increasingly important in commercial, industrial and service buildings.
In support of its proposal, the company indicated that its HVAC solutions are TB1 certified, the highest classification in thermal bridge factor, an indicator related to the thermal efficiency of air handling units.
The offer is complemented by a specialized Technical Assistance Service for the support of the installations and with the DCONTROL platform, a tool that allows monitoring the performance of the equipment and documenting the impact of the modernization actions in terms of energy efficiency and operational performance.
With this proposal, DECACLIMA seeks to offer an alternative for HVAC system operators to extend the useful life of their facilities, reduce costs and move towards more efficient and sustainable HVAC models.
