Nidec Global Appliance reorganizes following the acquisition of Embraco

International. Following the acquisition of Embraco, Nidec Global Appliance announces its new positioning as an integrated organization, with a greater presence and a stronger market position.

As one of Nidec Corporation's fastest growing platforms, the Global Appliance division is amplifying its global capillarity and innovation capabilities, as well as establishing a solid foundation in the Americas.

Nidec Global Appliance's presence now comprises a group of 11 manufacturing plants, six research and development centers, three sales offices and a global business support center, spread across eight countries (Brazil, the United States, Mexico, Slovakia, China, Russia, Romania and Italy) and supported by a workforce of 14,000 people. The annual production volume of engines and compressors, combined, is around 60 million units, marketed in more than 80 countries worldwide.

As a result of a series of acquisitions in the appliance segment and in conjunction with a long-term growth strategy, this new agreement has resulted in the creation of the Nidec Global Appliance brand, which represents a new chapter as an integrated organization that combines synergies between its product portfolios. In this sense, Embraco is listed as a brand for the portfolio of refrigeration solutions, while the existing product line of household appliance motors focused on washing machines, dryers and dishwashers will retain the Nidec brand.

"Nidec Global Appliance's brand attributes result in a complete, high-quality portfolio of solutions for residential and commercial appliances, thereby enhancing the customer-centric approach and market presence, while leveraging productivity through synergies and exchange of best practices between factories," says Valter Taranzano, president of Nidec Global Appliance.

While Embraco compressors are ready to meet the most demanding market demands with respect to regulations and regulations, the engine business has as its strategy to meet specific demands of each market that the company serves worldwide.  Both product portfolios are based on high quality and energy efficiency as key attributes, powered by Best-in-Class and Most Cost-Effective Manufacturing Technology from Nidec.
