"Along with new rules and regulations, sensitivity to how office workers' health and comfort affect productivity is driving greater acceptance of indoor air quality (IAQ) technologies in more buildings, "together with newer standards." said Benjamin Freas, research analyst at Navigant Research. "ERVs are growing in popularity as they provide energy-saving benefits without sacrificing indoor air quality."
Other IAQ technologies that are experiencing strong growth, according to the report, include carbon dioxide sensors, demand-controlled ventilation, dedicated outdoor air systems, and ultraviolet irradiation to remove microbes.
Revenue for the global IAQ market is projected to increase from $3.3 billion in 2014 to $5.6 billion in 2020, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 8.8% during that period. The report provides a comprehensive and global view of the state of the various IAQ-related technologies that are currently available and used in new or renewed applications. Revenue forecasts, segmented by technology, building type, and region, extend through 2020.
