HFC Regulations in the U.S. Senate

USA. The HVACR industry is ramping up the offensive to conserve HFCs, as political pressure mounts to include such refrigerants on the list of gases that cause global warming and subject them to extensive regulations and virtual elimination. The Lieberman-Warner Act on U.S. Climate Security is currently being discussed, a bill that could reach the U.S. Senate this month. It includes regulations and trade chapters, production rights allocations, production chapters and, in its current form, includes HFCs within its main themes. Precisely this law was a high priority issue at the Annual International Trade Conference of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors (HARDI) held in the nation's capital. Which was preceded by a day of congressional visits in which HARDI members met with their colleagues in the ASA (American Supply Association), the ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of the United States) and the PHCC (National Association of Plumbing Contractors, Heating and Cooling), in visits with elected officials and their respective staff, in order to make them aware of the issues of importance to the industry.
