USA. Standard 189.1, prepared by ASHRAE, the Lighting Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) and the American Council for Green Buildings (USGBC), has undergone a second public review. The regulatory proposal will provide the minimum requirements for the design of new high-performance commercial buildings and for major renovation projects, in the aspects of energy efficiency, impact on the atmosphere, sustainable places, efficiency in the consumption of water, materials and resources and indoor air quality. The application of these requirements allows savings of 10 to 41% in energy over the 90.1-2007 standard, including connection and process loads and other aspects of consumption with an average of 24.9% for all climates, in addition to savings of 35% for office buildings and 26% for multifamily buildings.
