USA USA The House education and labor committee has approved a bill that will authorize $6.4 billion in grants for school construction projects that meet certain environmental standards. The bill will be debated and voted on soon.If the bill were approved by Congress, federal grants could be used to take steps designed to reduce or eliminate human exposure to classroom noise and environmental noise pollution. It was also proposed to allow establishments to use the money on ceiling and floor repair projects. The project has indicated a preference for subsidies that include the acoustic performance criteria of the ANSI S12.60-2002 standard, on design requirements and guidelines for educational establishments.
