United States. Carrier recently introduced its innovative new oil-free water-cooled centrifugal chiller called aquaMedge® 19MV designed to deliver reliable performance, incredible efficiency, easy installation and a wide operating range.
With a capacity of 300 to 700 tons (1,055kW - 2,461kW), the AquaEdge 19MV combines the best efficiency in the segment for design and the ability to operate in severe conditions due to unexpected building operations or extreme weather conditions.
The AquaEdge 19MV leverages proven EquiDrive ™ two-stage back-to-back compressor technology, now with magnetic bearings, to achieve the best performance in its segment while remaining quiet and cool under pressure. This revolutionary EquiDrive drivetrain and compression technology provides an expanded operating range, while improving chiller energy efficiency for specific engineers, building owners and facility managers.
The aquaEdge 19MV's many features and options are designed to enhance buildings by enabling optimization of HVAC systems, building operation, and data:
- Compact footprint for easy installation: fits through double doors (72 inches by 80 inches) without disassembling. *
- Low noise level: operates at less than 80 dBA.
- Refrigerant options: available with the low global warming potential (GWP) option R-513A or R-134a.
- Economizer: takes advantage of the design of the two-stage compressor to increase the subcooling of the coolant and the capacity of the evaporator to obtain a higher performance per square foot.
- Expansion control system: Dual expansion valves (EXVs) provide redundancy under typical operating conditions and ensure full capacity with virtually no lift for excellent cold weather performance.
- Greenspeed® Intelligent Frequency Drive (VFD): allows start-up and cold water operation of the condenser while providing improved performance in off-design conditions.
- Carrier® SmartVu ™ Control Panel: Provides intelligent control and easier tracking and analysis of operational data, and the ability to link the control system to a building automation system to remotely access chiller operation data.
