Meet the new ASHRAE President 2021-2022

Mick Schwedler - ASHRAEInternational. ASHRAE introduced the new president of the Society for the period 2021-22, as well as the officers of the executive committee and the directors.

The president of ASHRAE 2021-22 is Mick Schwedler, P.E., ASHRAE Member, LEED AP. During his inaugural presidential address, Schwedler announced that the Society's new theme will be "Personal Growth. Global impact. Feed the roots." The theme explores ASHRAE's expansive root system since the Society's founding, through its extraordinary global growth and impact on the built environment. Three sets of roots were established to help members grow: member-to-member connections, chapters, and grassroots regions, and technology.

"This Year of the Society we will examine how ASHRAE cultivates its deep, pervasive and strong roots to collectively provide global benefits both today and for future generations," Schwedler said. "Most importantly, we ask for your active participation in helping someone else grow."

Schwedler is an application engineer at Trane in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
