Mexico. With a focus on innovation, energy efficiency and user experience, Samsung has consolidated its showroom in Mexico City as a technological benchmark.
This space, designed as a "Smart Things House", integrates a wide range of connected products, all managed through its SmartThings platform.
"It is an area configured to be a benchmark for what is a Smart Home, modern and attractive, where we have set up several of the equipment in our portfolio [...] all connected thanks to SmartThings," explained Javier Moreno, director of air conditioning systems at Samsung Electronics Mexico. In addition to being an exhibition center, the showroom also functions as a space for events, training, and new product launches.
In the field of air conditioning, Samsung has developed a robust offer to respond to the various climatic conditions in Mexico. Its line includes residential mini-split equipment, commercial CCS systems, and variable refrigerant volume (VRF) solutions such as the DVM S2, capable of operating efficiently from -15°C to +50°C in cooling mode and from -25°C to +24°C in heating. "Always in the search that they provide conditions of temperature and relative humidity that offer comfort to the interior of the spaces where they are installed," Moreno added.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is another pillar of its strategy. In models such as the DVM S2, the systems learn from usage patterns thanks to more than 20 sensors and dynamically adjust the operating pressure, reducing energy consumption. In the residential line, Bespoke AI WindFree equipment incorporates modes such as Fast Cooling, capable of predicting the ideal conditions of the room. In addition, SmartThings' Energy Saving feature can generate savings of up to 30% compared to conventional modes.
The commitment to efficiency is also reflected in the widespread use of inverter compressors in all its equipment, which, when combined with AI algorithms, manage to reduce electricity consumption by up to 15% compared to traditional inverter systems. "Samsung is the first manufacturer to incorporate AI functions in air conditioning equipment," Moreno stressed.
To ensure a comprehensive experience, Samsung maintains a network of authorized service centers throughout Mexico, supported by certified technicians. "We understand that having a continuous Air Conditioning service is critical throughout the year," he said.
In terms of the future, the company continues to invest significantly in research and development. "Last year it was reported that almost 12% of its profits were dedicated to R&D," Moreno said, placing Samsung among the three technology companies that invest the most in innovation globally. Among its most ambitious projects is the development of SmartThings Pro, an advanced platform for the comprehensive management of buildings, with monitoring tools, simulation of routines through digital twins, and administration of services such as lighting, CCTV and access control.
With these developments, Samsung seeks to remain at the forefront of technology and actively contribute to the well-being of its users and the energy sustainability of the environment.
