Ziehl-Abegg received data support from a partnership focused on ventilation systems

International. AMCA, the non-profit association that oversees the standards and certifications of ventilation technology systems around the world, has backed up the consistent credibility of Ziehl-Abegg's data on air performance and energy consumption for energy-saving EC fans. At its headquarters in Germany, the company operates the world's largest combined test chamber for amateurs.

"This is a tribute to our long-term commitment to the reliability and accuracy of measurement data," says Peter Fenkl, CEO of Ziehl-Abegg. Ec fan certification is a great counterpart to the certification of the company's AC products. Both certifications attest to Ziehl-Abegg's position as a technology leader in aerodynamic and energy-saving fans. With a high level of vertical integration in manufacturing, the company produces steel, aluminum and plastic fans. Modern energy-saving fans are powered by external rotor motors with integrated electronic control; the external rotor technology was developed by the company's founder, Emil Ziehl.

"When our customers install EC fans, they must be able to have complete confidence in the measurement values quoted," explains Fenkl. In many installation situations, the individual measurement values for the motor and EC fan can no longer be measured, as they are lost in the overall system. "That's why we've been operating the world's largest combined test and measurement chamber for fans in Künzelsau since 2008," said the CEO. Modern high-precision measuring instruments, plus regular training for employees, combined with regular inspections by external organizations such as AMCA or TÜV, are quite expensive. "But in the interest of providing credible measurement data, this is not an area where we cut back," Fenkl emphasizes.

Mirco Herrmann, the Managing Director of Ziehl-Abegg in the USA, is delighted with the approval of the measurement accuracy granted to its parent company, as the certification also applies to EC products manufactured in the USA. "This means that we can promote this new certification alongside the existing one for our AC products in the USA, where everyone is familiar with AMCA." Herrmann also adds, "We have maintained long-standing relationships with our customers based on trust, this is now underlined by AMCA certification."
