Wireless tools for diagnostics and repairs

Fieldpiece

International. The advances made with cordless tools are some of the most exciting in our industry in a long time. Smart HVAC/R tools and applications make work faster and smarter, while allowing technicians to enjoy much greater accuracy when diagnosing and repairing a system.

Here are four ways smart tools change the game!

1. See the big picture
Since cordless tools offer seamless connections between digital collectors, pressure gauges, clamp meters, and even scales, they allow jobsite technicians to have an overview of the system.

Directly from their mobile device, they see all the data points needed to make a diagnosis, from overheating and subcooling to refrigerant pressure and more. This helps technicians troubleshoot system issues quickly and resolve them more accurately by gathering disparate data to show how various settings affect performance.

2. There's an app for that
The latest wireless HVAC/R tools work with apps on most iPhone and Android mobile devices. There's no need for technicians to invest in a new piece of technology specially designed to take advantage of this functionality.

From the mobile device, technicians can easily access information from around the workplace while enjoying quick reference to customer data stored in the cloud. This functionality offers greater accountability and transparency about the work being done today and on previous service calls. In addition, Job Link is free to use.

3. Place tools exactly where they are needed
A wireless HVAC&R tool with a long range eliminates wasted time. Using traditional wired tools means having to connect and disconnect a single probe or tool, make adjustments in one place, and then go back to check the reading, etc. Also, some ideal locations for a probe may be far from an outlet or difficult to reach.

Using a cordless pressure gauge, temperature probe or pipe clamp, for example, allows the technician to choose the ideal location for a measurement. Once installed each tool works independently while delivering real-time data directly to the mobile device.

4. Lighter loads
Cordless tools not only eliminate the use of long extension cords and the search for power outlets to plug them in, but also reduce the weight of equipment a technician must carry on the jobsite; Not to mention, the number of trips up and down the stairs that are saved.

Wireless tools help technicians work smarter and faster. Learn more at Fieldpiece.
