Mexico. Danfoss recently presented a technical session during the XXXIII Board of Directors of the College of Civil Engineers of Nuevo León, which spoke about the new trends of HVAC in non-residential buildings.
The efficient use of energy is one of the main challenges that the HVAC industry faces worldwide, since ventilation, refrigeration, heating and air conditioning equipment have a high energy consumption. "In an air conditioning system, saving energy means achieving human comfort at the lowest cost, and one of the ways to achieve this is with the planning and design of the HVAC system. By varying the rotational speed of fans and/or pumps, you can have the right flow required, minimizing energy consumption," said Jessica Quezada, drive specialist at Danfoss Mexico.
Facility Management System (FMS) and HVAC building management systems are achieving record savings in size due to the correct dimensioning and selection of HVAC systems. Large systems are no longer needed for areas that require a minimum of cooling, in addition, new technologies provide systems of greater cooling capacity.
Isolated HVAC systems have lost followers, now the new IoT-Ready HVAC systems are already a reality and can be integrated with energy systems. The demand for energy efficiency places them as favorites in smart buildings. Automated systems with real-time alerts and notifications will gradually replace traditional systems, this will facilitate control and supervision in HVAC systems.
"One of the main industries to implement these trends is undoubtedly that of construction and real estate of non-residential buildings, its primary management will fall on the installation of HVAC systems with energy efficiency through BMS systems (Building Management System)" explained Quezada.
