Evolution in air conditioning for homes or buildings

altThere are many options that installers and end users have to air condition in residential environments. We present some available and their most recent models.

by ACR Latin America

Latin America is a region that enjoys a great variety of climates according to its location. There are territories where high temperatures predominate throughout the year, in other locations low temperatures are enjoyed and in the central countries both situations can be contemplated during the twelve months of the year.

This makes the air conditioning systems business profitable, demand stable, and basic heat and cold needs do not disappear.

For all of the above, manufacturers of air conditioning equipment are constantly developing technologies that meet the new and continuous demands of the market in order to remain competitive.

The most important issue today has to do with the high efficiency that equipment offers today. Manufacturers develop products that allow significant energy savings and at the same time offer performance that offers comfort and confidence to the user.

In this opportunity we will develop an article based on the latest technologies for residential air conditioning, for this we will present the most recent options available in the Latin American market so that installers and end users have different alternatives according to their needs.

This time we will have outdoor units and minisplits of high efficiency of some of the most important players in the market such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Daikin, Mitsubishi. We will present its main features and share the impressions that each participant has of their product.

Outdoor units

For example, Mauricio Marchena, representative of Mitsubishi Electric, spoke about its line of outdoor air and heating units of two to eight zones of the MXZ line, of which he stressed that "this complete solution is directed towards a home, condominium, small office or business, it has the longest flexibility in running coolant lines in its class. This solution offers zoning of rooms and spaces individually. These should start at a minimum of two and can be added gradually."

Mauricio added that "the unit also offers two evaporators from the MXZ line (MFZ & MSZ-GE06) in addition to the entire line of evaporators from the M and P series up to 24kbtus. This system offers connection flexibility up to 130% of its capacity for diversification in applications."

For its part, LG has the Multi V Space III outdoor unit which "has an extraordinary level of energy efficiency thanks to its Inverter compressor technology, electronic valves and many other parts redesigned to optimize its performance, it is also relatively more compact than other conventional systems, all this translates into greater ease in terms of installation and also saving money", commented Mauricio Higuita, engineer of the brand.

Samsung's equipment is the Mini DVM, which with a single outdoor unit can support up to nine indoor units. It is an ideal solution for large, medium and small buildings and its manufacturer assures that "it uses the latest technology in compressors and also uses ecological refrigerant".

The size in this outdoor DVM Mini has been reduced by 11%, and its volume by 5%. The DVM Mini allows an extended pipe length up to 150 m, and maximum difference level of 50 meters. With a wide limit, you can facilitate a variety of system designs.

Meanwhile, Carrier has its XPower Multisplit outdoor unit system, these devices are designed to connect up to four indoor units in different areas. Maximum height difference 15 m and 70 m pipe length, making installation easier and faster.

Among some of its features, the self-diagnosis system stands out: 40 different control codes. Electronic modulation valves regulate the refrigerant flow rate and optimize the cold temperature in the cooling circuit. It also features two twin rotary cylinders and a pre-filled system: the refrigerant charge is available for any combination; no additional charge is needed.

Trends in minisplit

- Publicidad -

Lennox features its MS8C Series minisplit unit, which offers a secure installation that leaves you less vulnerable to problems associated with the window unit, such as insects, weather and theft.

During heat times, the minisplit's heat pump works like a normal air conditioner, extracts the heat inside the house and transfers it to the outside air. In cold environments, the process is reversed - the unit collects heat from the outside and transfers it to the inside of the residence.

For its part, the Japanese manufacturer Daikin has been presenting its latest line of minisplits of the Quaternity series. Rosa Villasmil, Director of Marketing and Communications at Daikin McQuay Latin America, commented: "The equipment is integrated with an Inverter variable speed compressor that reduces energy consumption by 30% compared to traditional systems.

The brand representative added that "in general, Quaternity models exceed the standard capacity of a split system with results of up to 164%."

Panasonic is another company that has recent developments in minisplit inverter systems. The CS-S12PKV model, known as "Split Deluxe Inverter", offers energy savings of up to 65%, temperature control responds to changing conditions to keep the room temperature comfortable, gentle cooling when there are few people and intense cooling when the number of people in the room increases. The Super Alleru-buster filter combines three effects into one: Protection against allergies, viruses and bacteria by maintaining a room with clean and healthy air.

Below we present the technical characteristics of each of the equipment mentioned above:
