Stulz discusses Industry 4.0 and Air Conditioning

International. Industry 4.0 is an industry of processes that handle mission critical, that is, they are processes that we cannot stop.

In consumer matters, Stulz has invested a lot of time in the development of technologies, research and in the development of reliable products in micro and nano data centers. Broadly speaking, these are data centers that, like the big ones, have all the operability and reliability for the processes demanded by industry 4.0

Industry 4.0 requires having small data centers on your premises, to improve connectivity processes and make them much more efficient and much faster. Cooling systems, like large-scale systems applied to Industry 4.0, consume between 35 and 45% of the energy of a small data center.  Selecting a sufficiently efficient and cost-effective cooling solution determines energy and cost efficiency. making this selection of the highest importance.

Industry 4.0 is a particularity or niche market where the HVAC / R industry is immersed, and is born from the so-called "Edge Computing", added with the "IoT" or Internet of Things, these trends have pushed the development of "IT" technologies or Information Technologies.

In the case of industry 4.0 it has been possible to automate a large number of processes, making this industry more efficient.  The issue of cooling is totally related to the above since in the "Edge Computing" it has been possible to bring applications closer to the people, this has taken data centers to intermediate points, from the large storage centers of "Cloud Computing" to the end users of IT technologies.  So these new data centers require cooling, technologies that bring savings, efficiency and reliable performance for Industry 4.0 and that is where leading brands like Stulz have a place.

"In the near future the entire industry will have this type of data center to improve the issues of latency, connectivity and security in their data; and these require cooling, in particular precision cooling," said Francisco Álvarez, Strategic Account Manager at Stulz Mexico. "Stulz has been developing technologies such as micro data centers for a long time, which have all the operability of a large-scale one, but with great energy savings," he said.

Micro data centers are data centers with all the virtues and benefits of those of large scale, but compact and scalable equipment, which can be perfectly implemented in this type of industry.  In them you can place redundant cooling system, fire suppression systems, uninterrupted power units, PDU's and everything you need for efficient operation.

The IoT has permeated all the processes of human life, in industry 4.0 there is a direct impact on not having precision chillers, because we find processes that can not be stopped, if these were affected there would be direct repercussions with the operation of the equipment and the companies themselves.
